How long have you worked at Something Social?
Almost seven months!
Tell us about a day in the life of an account coordinator.
There is no average day in the life, and that’s actually one of my favorite parts of this job! On any given day I’m creating content calendars, posting for clients, coordinating photoshoots, and taking meetings. It’s non-stop, and I always learn something new every day because we have such a wide variety of clients in so many different industries.
In your spare time you…
…(try to) relax. Being a full-time student and an account coordinator, my schedule is pretty packed. I try to use my free time to unwind, whether that means relaxing with friends and family or taking a road trip to Palm Springs. When I’m not working I try to spend my time in the sun and away from social media, because we all need a little change of scenery every now and then.
Something Social is basically a one-stop shop for all content management and creation for clients. How do you manage it all and where do you draw your inspiration from for content?
It definitely comes down to organization. We have a lot of systems in place to keep team communication and tasks flowing smoothly, and that’s a huge part of what keeps me sane on any given day! It’s all about time management, communication, and teamwork, and browsing Pinterest and Instagram (or even getting outside of the office) for inspiration never hurts!
What’s your favorite thing about working for Something Social?
The team! With such a non-stop schedule, having a solid team for support and inspiration is key. Every day in the office is like working with friends, no matter how stressful our schedules are. It makes the job that much more fun, and it’s why I love coming into the office.
Your dream job would be (besides an Account Coordinator at Something Social of course)…
Is it bad that I have to say…I have no idea! I know I want to do something creative that allows me to connect with genuine, inspiring people. Up until this point I’ve been going with my gut, and I’m pretty happy about where it’s led me so I’ll probably continue on this path and see where it takes me next.
What is your idea of the perfect gram?
Something that involves beautiful design or natural scenery! I love spending time in inspiring spaces, and when the setting is so breathtaking on its own it’s best to let it speak for itself.
Favorite place in LA?
Is it too cheesy to say PCH? I love driving up the coast, especially on a nice day when you can roll the windows down, put on your favorite music, and just enjoy the view (sans traffic, preferably).
